This object is a copy of one of the two runners, a sculptural group discovered in the 18th century in Herculaneum. The runners date back to the 1st century BC and were located in the „Villa dei Papiri“, which was known for its impressive sculptures and an important library of ancient scrolls. The sculptures are currently on display at the National Archaeological Museum in Naples.
