A WESTERN AFRICAN DANCING MASK OF THE MALINKE TRIBE

Large impressive dancing mask in the form of an antelope head with two curved horns and ears as well as expressive round eyes, the nostrils and teeth of the separately crafted lower jaw made of metal. The obverse and horns mounted with sheet iron and embossed and pierced sheet brass, the lower half and the sides of the horns are additionally decorated with cowrie shells and seeds.
