A very popular and rare Grand Tour object in a detailed design from the mid-19th century. Architectural motifs were particularly popular among educated travellers. The pieces were often crafted in cork, alabaster, bronze or marble. They were mainly displayed in libraries or studies and were intended to demonstrate the host’s sophistication and education.
