Luce was particularly fond of the mouth of the Trieux River near Kermouster. The headland jutting out into the sea, the boats, the colours of the sky and the water, which he captured in this small oil painting on paper, were incorporated into the oil painting ‘Kermouster, les Trois Barques’ (Musée Maximilien Luce, Mante-la-Jolie) from 1914.
